Ateneo Blue Eagles - UAAP Season 74 Champion!


The Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) successfully defended their title and still the champion in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 74 by beating the Far Eastern University (FEU) in the score 82 versus 69.

The championship match was held at the Araneta Center in Cubao, Quezon City which is meant by the fans despite of the onslaught of the Typhoon Quiel in Metro Manila.

For its history, this was the fourth consecutive championship of the Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU).

In this recent Best-of-Three Series, Ateneo Blue Eagles strongly defended their title and doesn't give FEU a chance to steal it terminating the series in an 2-0 score.

Ateneo coach Norman Black said that it was a success to the Ateneo de Manila University in their desire to establish the best basketball program among the other universities.

He also admitted that it was a hard ascent for them to the finals especially their match with the FEU and that of they did so much preparation.

Greg Slaughter, Blue Eagles Center said that it was an enormous pressure coming from the fans but he did all his best to and made it all to get the title for the team.

Greg is very thankful to his coach Black and to the fans that supported their team throughout the season. These are reasons why they win the title for these season.

Meanwhile, Nico Salva was the Finals MVP for the season.

Because of this championship, the Ateneo is the fourth UAAP team that earned a 4-peat win together with De La Salle University (DLSU), University of Santo Tomas (UST) and the University of the East (UE).
