Nueva Vizcaya, Bataan, Dagupan - State of Calamity


The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) of Bataan province subjected their province in state of calamity due to the impact of floods caused by the tropical storm Pedring.


According to SP agriculture committee chairman  Gaudencio Ferrer, most affected in communities are houses, rice plantations and even fish ponds.


Based on the report of the provincial agricultural office, the damaged is reaching for about P340.4 million from displaced crops, which most of these crops are to be harvest.


An estimated of 14,000 hectares are affected of floods which are rice fields and vegetables which until now has not yet avail.


First here, Bataan Governor Enrique Garcia filed an urgent request for the SP to immediately declare a state of calamity to avail of those affected by typhoon calamity fund of the province.


In a separate report also, a state of calamity was declared in the province of Nueva Vizcaya.


Some parts of Nueva Vizcaya sunk more than a meter, so their residents was forced to evacuate to higher areas.


Recently, Dagupan city also subjected to state of calamity after performing a special City Council session due to the damaged of Typhhon Quiel.


So far eight barangays of the city is still submerged in flood waters caused by recent storms.


These barangays are Malued, Lasip, Chico, Lasip Grande, Lucao, Mayombo, Pogo Chico, Norte Bacayao Herero-Perez.


According to the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council or CDRRMC, in 114 families still remain in evacuation centers particularly in Dagupan City People'sAstrodome.


So far still no path of light vehicles on the road in Barangay Mayombo, Chico and LucaoLasip still high because of the flood.
