November 7, 2011 - Holiday

Malacañang confirmed today that there will be a regular holiday on November 7, Monday, for the celebration of Eid'l Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) by Muslims worldwide.

According to Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte, it is based on the Proclamation 276 of President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III.

The "Celebration of Sacrifice" was said to remember the favor of Abraham to sacrifice his son Ishmael as an act of obedience to God.

This is the second and the last of the two Eid feast that the Muslims were celebrating, based from the Koran.

Eid'l Adha occurs, 70 days after the end of the month of Ramadan.

Earlier, it is beneficial also to workers that they had no working days from October 31 and November 1 due to todos los santos.
