Pacquiao-Marquez final press con



LAS VEGAS, Nevada - It is like the fight night for the final press conference of 8-division world champion Manny Pacquiao and 3-division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez.

The two fighters were welcomed by their fans and international media in their press conference held at Hollywood Theatre at MGM Grand.

Wearing a black coat, the Filipino ring icon has a clear face to appear in the media while it was seriously  for "El Rose" in his clothing trainer jacket.

The Mexican boxer forms its  conditioned body by his dress.

First Pacquiao announced he is favored by the growth of the body of Marquez, as he said that it will easy for him not to miss a hit in any angle of his opponent's body.

Although he refused to give his own predictions, Pacquiao assured that he has intense training prepared for the third time he meet Marquez.

The public and media is now looking forward to the official weigh-in being held on Saturday.

The Pacquiao-Marquez fight will be held at the MGM Grand Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday, November 13, 2011.

Beckham, Donovan vs Philippine Azkals


Big names in football will be visiting the Philippines, as by David Beckham and Landon Donovan.
LA Galaxy's business operations Thomas Payne announced that they will come to the country in December in full line-up to fight the Philippine Azkals football team in an international friendly match at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

Aside from Beckham and Donovan, the team also includes the Irish striker Robbie Keane.
"It comes in a really good time for us. Barring any kind of injury, the whole team is here. They know when they signed on, but they're going to go on a post season tour, "said Payne.
On the side of national team manager Dan Palami, he made sure that the Philippine Azkals will not lose this fight in front of Filipino fans.
"The Azkals will play as if we have to win the game," specificity of Palami.
Palami also started to invite other Filipino players outside the country to help the national team.
Among those who responded to the call were Filipino-Icelandic Ray Jonsson, Fil-British goal keeper Neil Etheridge and Fil-Dutch Dennis Cagara and Filipino-Danish Jerry Lucena.

"Some of the players we have in Europe have played against high profile players, so they're used to this," said Palami.
Meanwhile, Payne also expressed an admiration to the Filipino on display to love sports game.

"We've been playing all around the world, in front of 80-90 thousand people. But we're looking forward to a small venue, a crowd that's really gonna be close to the action. "
If you remember, Beckham is considered one of the world's highest-paid footballers, who has assisted Manchester United to win six times in the Premier League title, twice in the Football Association Cup and also in the UEFA Champions League in 1999.
Beckam was also played, were his wife was the ex-Spice Girl Victoria, at Preston North End, Real Madrid and AC Milan before signing with the LA Galaxy in 2007.

Donaire successfully defended his Title

NEW YORK - In the first in his career, the veteran Omar Narvaez was defeated in the fist of Nonito "The Filipino Flash" Donaire.

On the fight held at Madison Square Garden, New York, Donaire nsuccessfully defended his WBO / WBC bantamweight belt.

The "veteran's move" of 36-year-old Narvaez of Argentina is not that effective than faster punches of Donaire.

Throughout the fight, Donaire is almost aggressive as Narvaez was settled into his defensive mode.

Donaire was wearing red gloves, black jerseys and pink socks as solidarity with the celebration of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

At the end of the 12th Round, reigning champion defended his title via unanimous decision based on three score cards: 120-108.

Donaire vs. Narvaez - Official Weigh-in

Nonito "The Filipino Flash" Donaire still admit to himself that he was shocked and surprised about his weight.

It was recorded that Donaire was weighed in the official weigh-in of 116.25 pounds while the limit weight for the bantamweight division is 118 pounds.

Remeber that the WBO and WBC champion that he believe that he can't go for the 116 pounds but still he is surprised for the result of the hard training.

Apparently, before the official weigh-in, he weigh almost 118 pounds when he weighed himself in the hotel.

He also tried to tried to go up and down the stairs twice just to reduce his weight because he weighed 118.4 pounds, until he actually reduce it down to 118 pounds exact in the weighing scale.

But the surprise and shock came to him when he stand up in the weighing scale and see the resulting official weigh-in.

"I went down and when i stepped onto the scale, and when it said 116 - boom - I was shocked and surprised," says Donaire.

Also the boxing observers was surprised for the result of his official weigh-in.

This is the lightest weight of Donaire among his recent three fights.

Victor Conte, nutritionist of Donaire, was also surprised for the resulting weight and was blamed because of the result.

But his trainer Robert Garcia is determined that there will be no change about Donaire just because of his light weight.

The Argentinian undefeated junior bantamweight Omar Narvaez was heavier than Donaire's weight of 117 pounds.

Beny Esteves was the referee for the Donaire-Narvaez showdown, also the judges were Julie Lederman, Thomas Schreck and Steven Weisfield.

Richard de Cuir will serve as the fight suprevisor.

Tiffany Ashley De Guzman-Viray will sing the national anthem "Lupang Hinirang", while Lianah Sta. Ana will sing the "Star Spangled Banner".

The two were both from Freehold, New Jersey.

Manny Pacquiao - Ready to Rumble!


LOS ANGELES - A day after you arrive in Los Angeles for the final phase of his training, he was proud of today's 8-division world champion Manny Pacquiao was ready to fight Juan Manuel Marquez, the fight would even next week.

According to Pacquiao, a little sparring and just said this trend needed to complete his preparation.

On the side of chief trainer Freddie Roach, it also boasted the conditions of care.

He said among the lineup that already sparring partners Pacquiao Wild Card Gym is the Mexican 140-pound challenger Roger "Speedy" Gonzales and Miguel Diaz.

Roach also confirmed that he had not included in the sparring mates of the Filipino ring icon David Rodela, acquired following a knockout loss in its last fight.

Ateneo Blue Eagles - UAAP Season 74 Champion!


The Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) successfully defended their title and still the champion in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 74 by beating the Far Eastern University (FEU) in the score 82 versus 69.

The championship match was held at the Araneta Center in Cubao, Quezon City which is meant by the fans despite of the onslaught of the Typhoon Quiel in Metro Manila.

For its history, this was the fourth consecutive championship of the Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU).

In this recent Best-of-Three Series, Ateneo Blue Eagles strongly defended their title and doesn't give FEU a chance to steal it terminating the series in an 2-0 score.

Ateneo coach Norman Black said that it was a success to the Ateneo de Manila University in their desire to establish the best basketball program among the other universities.

He also admitted that it was a hard ascent for them to the finals especially their match with the FEU and that of they did so much preparation.

Greg Slaughter, Blue Eagles Center said that it was an enormous pressure coming from the fans but he did all his best to and made it all to get the title for the team.

Greg is very thankful to his coach Black and to the fans that supported their team throughout the season. These are reasons why they win the title for these season.

Meanwhile, Nico Salva was the Finals MVP for the season.

Because of this championship, the Ateneo is the fourth UAAP team that earned a 4-peat win together with De La Salle University (DLSU), University of Santo Tomas (UST) and the University of the East (UE).
