Typhoon Ramon - Slows down


While dominating, Typhoon Ramon slows down its pace as it move towards the West Philippine Sea.

According to Gener Quitlong of PAGASA forecasting center, the center of the storm last sighted about 80 kilometers west northwest of San Jose, Occidental Mindoro.

It carries a wind of 55 kilometers near the center.

It still acts northwest at a speed of 11 kilometers per hour.

Storm signal no. 1 is still elevated in the following areas: Marinduque, Mindoro Provinces, Lubang Island, Romblon, Southern Quezon, Northern Palawan, Calamian Group of Islands, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Bataan, Southern Zambales and Metro Manila.

Tomorrow morning, the center of the storm is expected to be 240 kilometers west south west of Iba, Zambales.

Typhoon Ramon - 8 missing, 4 dead


Eight people missing are reported because of the storm Ramon right now including the seven new recorded by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDDRMC) who were fishermen from Misamis Oriental while the other missing person is from Iloilo.

Executive Director of NDRRMC Benito Ramos confirmed that their personnel staffs and disaster teams were focused on finding those missing persons in the areas mentioned.

Ramos reported earlier that some streets in part of Bohol is now impassable due to floods and landslides.

Meanwhile, Ramos clarified that only four persons were confirmed dead because of  the Typhoon Ramon. They were all drowned students from Iloilo.

Today, preemptive evacuation of the agency still continues along with other government agencies to residents which are at risk and directly affected by the Typhoon Ramon.

Typhoon Ramon - Signal No. 2 removed


Typhoon Ramon still continue to dominate its force in the Visayas area while it maintain its strength.

It has a storm winds reaching about to 55 kilometers per hour near the center of the typhoon.

The eye of the storm determined recently around 10: 00 am in a location of 30 kilometers Northeast of Roxas City.

It still progresses in the direction of the West Northwest at 19 kilometers per hour.

Tomorrow morning the storm is expected to be located 190 kilometers west of Calapan City.

Right now storm signal number 1 still exists in Marinduque, Mindoro Provinces, Romblon, Southern Quezon, Camarines Sur, Sorsogon, Albay, Burias Island, Ticao Island, Masbate, Northern Palawan, Calamian Group of Islands, Panay Island, Guimaras Island and Northern Negros Occidental.

While the storm signal. 2 raised in other areas are removed.

Extensive formation of clouds are still carrying by the storm at 400 km while 5-25 mm per hour is the amount of rain it carries which is enough to cause flooding and landslides.

Typhoon Ramon - Will Hit on Wednesday


The new storm typhoon Ramon came on part of Surigao del Sur.

Based on the latest information of Pagasa, the storm was determined located 600kilometers east southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.

According to Aurelio Adzar of Pagasa forecasting center, typhoon "Ramon" is still in the ocean and not yet affects any part of the country so they still not raised storm signals.

Pagasa expects that the storm will become stronger now that it still in the ocean.

It acts westward towards the country coming from Mindanao and Visayas kilomoters at 15per hour.

If there is no change in the directions, the storm Ramon expected to hit on Wednesday between Leyte and Surigao del Norte area at night or Tuesday.

Pagasa said, it could also affect Surigao del Norte, Leyte provinces, Samarprovinces, Cebu, Bohol and Panay Islands.

Right now no chance to turn the way of typhoon "Ramon" to Luzon but as experts expect that it will change its direction.

If the storm will become fast with a diameter of 200 kilometers, the Pagasa can raise storm signals later this afternoon.

Earlier, DOST Undersecretary Graciano Yumul said,  the rains now added the La NiƱa phenomenon and the inter-tropical convergence zone (ICTZ) that now affecting Luzon and Visayas.

Typhoon Ramon - Arriving tomorrow


While Typhoon Quiel is dominating its force in Northern Luzon just after Typhoon Pedring passed, PAGASA warned the people that a new storm will enter our country this weekend.

Reported by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Usec. Graciano Yumul, it will be expected that new tropical depression Ramon will enter the Philippine area of responsibility this coming weekend.

He also said that the said tropical depression soon to be Typhoon Ramon will pursue what Typhoon Quiel is giving its force now.

According to Usec. Graciano Yumul in an interview, "Ang pasok niya Sabado na rin ng gabi, habang tumatama si Quiel sa Cagayan, papasok na si Ramon sa PAR (Philippine Area of Responsibility). Kapag susundan po natin, malamang Lunes po maramdaman na natin si Ramon."

Associated with the impact of Typhoon Quiel, officials warned that it will intensify the impact of Southwest monsoon which and that could bring rain in some part of Luzon like in Bulacan, Pangasinan and National Capital Region (NCR).
